Why Wigs Are Saving Your Hair!

A little R&R works not just for your body…but for your hair, too. A protective style—think wigs!—will give tresses a rest from styling stress while allowing you to flaunt any mane move you desire. “[Protective styles] have become popular because Black women understand that their hair is their crown,” says celebrity hairstylist and author Monaé Everett (pictured). “There are definitely advancements in the way wigs are made. They’re more affordable than they’ve ever been so now the average woman can get a lace-front wig…And with lace-front wigs, you can use the lace to make the wig more believable. Leave out some hair somewhere around your hairline (about 20 strands of hair).
