I was wdinerong my daughters have natural hair and I use the black rubber bands on their hair when styling. If the rubber bands are not good what else should I use. I have relaxed hair since I can remember. I am thinking of going natural and was wdinerong how would I start this process. I have decided not to ever relax both my daughters hair. Instead want them to love their beautiful hair. Please, e-mail me back with some suggestions. Much appreciate.

Thanks for ptsiong this, I recently put my hair in yarn braids as a “protective style” only to realize that these braids cause way too much strain on my edges and fine hair. I was on vacation this weekend and one of my braids broke off taking a number of my APL strands with it!heed to the warnings ladies!

I havent had a relaxer in about 4 months..during this period I have been braiding my hair up and wearing wigs and weaves…i want to know how long is this practice good for, without causing major damage to my shoulder length hair?

I have been wearing weaves constantly. While the rest of my natural hair is getting longer I’ve noticed that the front of my hair is getting quite short. What can I do to prevent losing my edges while still enjoying wearing a weave?

Hi Danielle: The trick the cleansing your weave is to thoroughly rinse your hair make sure you don’t leave any product in between the tracks. It also helps to choose hair extensions that match closely to your Natural texture so your hair is easier to blow-dry and style the way you want it while avoiding frizz.

Hi Kimberly: If you want to take a break from the heat styling on your Natural hair a weave is a good option. However, if you want to be able to style the extensions using heat, opt for human hair.

Hi Carol: Your best bet is to choose a weave texture that matches the texture of your Natural hair. This way, you may avoid any potential damage and breakage from perming or heat styling on a constant basis.

Hi Sydney: You may want to wear a silk scarf or Wrap cap, which should be secured loosely at the nape for maximum airflow. If it’s not yet time to shampoo, dab your scalp/edges with a damp washcloth. You’ll feel as if you just shampooed!
