When Aisha Tyler debuted a trendy half-upsweep on Tuesday’s episode of CBS’ The Talk, her mane was met with mixed reviews. The actress and TV personality was “hair-shamed” on social media by viewers who objected to the style, and many of the comments were quite hurtful. But that didn’t stop her from rocking her top knot. In fact, Tyler sported the style again on Wednesday’s show—but this time with a few friends (check out the photo here). Her fellow co-hosts, Sheryl Underwood, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne and Julie Chen rocked matching top knots to show their support and solidarity, while taking on some of the cyber-critics’ comments. Here’s what Tyler had to say to her hair-haters:
“I am not a journalist. I am not an accountant. I am not a lawyer. I work on television. I love this job, and I love the fans so much. But if I came out here and I was worried about how you felt about how I look every day, I would be a pretty empty shell of a person. I want to express myself. Sometimes it’s going to work for you and sometimes it’s not going to work for you.”
Whether you’re flaunting your own top knot today or there’s another style you’d like to try, confidence is key. Take it from The Talk!
