Check out this first peek at actress Taraji P. Henson in her new role as “Cookie Lyon,” the ex-wife of a record label mogul, in the upcoming hip hop/family drama series “Empire.” Set for a 2014/2015 debut on FOX, the show centers on a family run music empire. As for Taraji’s role in the series, she’s described as a “total badass” with a prison record. After serving 17 years for dealing drugs (from which the profits helped to grow the family music business), she’s now out of prison and is ready to claim what’s hers. Cue the family drama. Will you be watching?
