I’m 62 years old with thinning hair around the front of my hairline. I’m considering getting a sew-in weave and was wondering whether or not it would help to relieve some of the everyday stress on my hair and in turn stop the breakage?
I suggest starting out by seeing a dermatologist who specializes in hair loss and having some tests done. Iron and vitamin D3 deficiencies, as well as genetic thinning traits, can all factor into the loss you are experiencing. Stress on hair that is already fragile may cause thinning to progress to Traction Alopecia (bald spots from strands pulled too tightly.)
