If you leave braids in your hair for more than three weeks will it cause breakage? —Vicky
Braids left in for over three weeks should not cause hair to break, but if the braids are too tight, then you may have a problem. Any hairstyle that pulls on your roots may inflict more tension than the strand and hair follicle can bear. If the braids are left in too tight of a position for an extended period of time, the hair follicles can become damaged and may stop growing, possibly resulting in permanent hair loss.
