Makeup artist Saisha Beecham has created some of Hollywood’s hippest looks. Here, the beauty guru shares her secrets behind the looks of her clientele and gives us a peek into her oh-so-pretty world.

“Michelle is always a complete sweetheart. I usually stick with a natural look on her. I start by applying a primer and top it off with Armani Luminous Silk foundation. I also love to use the Smashbox Limitless Beauty Eyeshadow Palette on her because it has a great range of tones—some shimmery and some matte. To complete Michelle’s natural look, I line her lips with a nude pencil and fill them in with a soft coral lipstick and a coat of clear gloss.”

“Tasha Smith is a beautiful woman and it’s such a joy to help her get glammed up. I like to apply a bronze shadow to highlight her eyelids and brush a dark brown tone outward from the crease for a sexy look. Then I press loose black powder eyeshadow along her lash line and blend it out for an intense look. A pair of false lashes completes a sultry eye look. To make her cheeks pop, I apply a rosy blush to the apples of her cheeks.”

“Being part of Melanie’s glam squad is like being part of a family I usually like to highlight her eyes and give her a great glow. For a pretty eye look, I apply M.A.C. Pigment in Tan all over her lid. Then in her crease I sweep on the Contour shade from the Smashbox Contour Kit. For some pop, I line the inner rim of her eyes with L’Oréal Extra-Intense Liquid eyeliner pencil, which is one of my favorites because it is very creamy and smooth.”

MAKEUP 101
Makeup artist Saisha Beecham shares her makeup musts for fierce looks!
THE MAKEUP MUST-HAVES “NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencils are lipgloss in a pencil form, which is amazing. I love them because they are perfect for a quick fix and give lips a nice, sheer color. I also can’t live without black mascara. My favorites changes, but I am loving Smashbox Bionic mascara because it makes the eyes really pop. I also like Smoke and Mirrors Beauty Hollywood lashes. For a little sparkle, I also use NYX Ultra Pearl Mania in Mink on the cheekbones and nose.”

Hi Tuwanna J.: Welcome to the world of makeup! Whenever you get that “powdered” look–especially on deeper skin tones, you know you need to find a more perfect foundation color. One way to find the right hue for you: Consult a makeup pro behind the counter at your fave department store to help you find a better shade match. You should also regularly check out SBH’s “Star Makeup” column (found in each issue of SBH) for some terrific tips and product recommendations from top celebrity makeup artists.
mary kay liquid foundation is the bomb! it has vitamin e in it so it matches ur skin tone perfectly. i have an orange tone to my skin and it is hard but from the first try it matched up.

I love MAC and Nars cosmetics. MAC’s foundation and powder give my face the best coverage when I have those breakouts. Their eyeshadow is very bold but smooth on the eyes. NARS’ blush brings out my cheeks! I just love makeup!
correction sorry i put is twice that first is should be it
carmex! It isnt really a makeup but I have to have it on me at all times! Is you true that is is better to wrap you hair with plastic wrap than with a satin cloth!
gurl u better get rid of that addictive product because it has menthol in it and try the satin lip mask by mary kay. it has an exfoiliating lip mask that you do first, then the lip balm to keep ur lips nice and moist.
Hey there! Fantastic thought, but might this truly perform?
I have started looking all over for this information. Luckily I just found it in Msn.
i’m taking some pics for a photo shoot. what is the way to go with the make up? i heard that MAC was good because it reflects the flash. what do u think?
Hey LaTisha B.: It depends on what kind of photo shoot you’re doing…The more “editorial” type of shoots will require more daring shades and fashion-forward makeup application techniques and products. For a more “natural” effect, you’ll want to go with makeup hues which add luminosity to skin and colors which enhance the features–without overshadowing them. Check out the “Star Makeup” column in each issue of SBH for some fab hints from working celebrity makeup pros.
try mary kay mineral product line. it looks fab in photos and gives you that youthful glow that you need for a photo shoot.
