We are all about Kandi’s trendy ways—and as for her ruby-red hue, we’re officially obsessed. “[My hair] is bright red at the top and dark around the sides and back,” shares Kandi. As for the style, “We decided to go shorter on the sides and longer in the back and on top,” reveals Kandi’s hairstylist Paula Britt. “I point cut her hair at a 90-degree angle to make it really choppy. This creates a shingle effect and makes the hair appear softer and more textured.”
Celebrity fashion stylist Kwamé Waters (pictured with Kandi on her SBH shoot at right) dressed the star head to toe, all while keeping her vibrant red haircolor in mind. “I always try to find clothing that complements Kandi’s haircolor and doesn’t clash with it,” he says. And that purple dress? “It was perfect,” admits Waters.
Celebrity makeup artist Latasha Wright (pictured crafting the star’s makeup look at right) is the genius behind Kandi’s gorgeous smokey eyes and light lips. “If I’m dramatic with the eye, I’m going to be a little more nude and natural with the lip,” admits Wright. “Kandi’s wearing Bobbi Brown lip gloss in a shade of pink.”

it’s the uielgst he’s ever seen my hair. Thank goodness for the veil! Lynette, you’re so right about the importance of listening. For some people, it comes easy. For others, it’s impossible.
