SBH travels with newly minted author Jennifer Hudson as she tells the story behind her dramatic weight loss in her memoir, I Got This.

Jennifer Hudson learned the hard way that image can sometimes outshine talent when a reporter referred to her as the “big girl” in Hollywood on one of her first red carpets. “Surely she wasn’t addressing me that way,” Jennifer writes in the introduction of her book. “I had the height of a supermodel, breasts that were naturally big and real, and a God-given shape. Why would I feel insecure about that?”

While the diva had always been proud of her curvy shape, after the birth of her son in 2009 Jennifer decided to change her attitude regarding weight because she wanted to become a healthier role model for him. Soon after, Jennifer began the Weight Watchers program, and the rest is svelte history.

In I Got This: How I Changed My Ways and Lost What Weighed Me Down, Jennifer shares the story how she has succeeded in her high-profile career as well as how she used the Weight Watchers program to forge a new start. She reveals, “I wrote this book because I want you to have a sense of who I am, where I’ve come from and what I’ve been through so you know my journey has been totally real.”
