TIP OF THE MOMENT
Take the time to weigh your options when you’re looking for a new hue. Once you apply a really dark shade, lifting your haircolor could take time, especially if you want to go all the way to a platinum hue from a basic black haircolor. Experiment with wigs to see if a deep hue is right for you and know what you’re getting into before you commit to a new shade!

Hi DeJa: When was your last color service? Wait a few months and give your hair a break before running another chemical process. Also, consult a professional colorist who will have the skill and knowledge to lift your haircolor and maintain the integrity of your hair.

This shampoo lrleay does smooth my hair. I’ve also bought the conditioner but if I forget to use it sometimes, the shampoo is enough to smooth my thick, wavy hair which has a tendency to frizz. Once, I bought their moisture shampoo by accident and using that alone, my hair was back to frizzy. It has been kind to my color and I love how soft my hair feels with this product. Finally, a smoothing product that works and doesn’t feel like it’s greasy or slick. I highly recommend this if you’re the type that has to use the hair dryer and flat iron to straighten your hair. I now don’t even have to blow dry my hair and it comes out nice and smooth. I’m thrilled I can just buy this at the local grocery store. I thought I’d check here to see if the price was better but it isn’t. I wanted to leave a review though to say the product is great though.
Thanks for the review, Wicho!
I'm going to miss ur pic ueadtps and such. They are an inspiration. I am in a rut trying to get my Locs to lay down. At 3"-4" they usually stick straight up or are crinkled. Ug! Ur blogs give me hope… I'd love to hear more about herbal rinses. How they're done, which herbs, etc. LOVE UR BLOG!
Hi Maria: We’re checking with our experts!
Hi Maria: SBH expert panelist Jacqueline Tarrant has an answer for you. It is not unusual for locs of your length to resist lying down. As they grow to five inches and longer, the additional length and weight will direct them into a downward position. In the meantime, you can train them to lay down by tying them down while still moist after shampooing and at night. Also, keep an eye out for upcoming issues of SBH to learn more about herbal rinses!
