You might recognize Jaz Sinclair from the young adult film Paper Towns. But, she’s all grown up now—and is proving she and act in the big leagues with her amazing performance in the thriller When The Bough Breaks. Starring alongside Regina Hall and Morris Chestnut, Jaz held her own and had all eyes on her in the film. Sophisticate’s Black Hair spoke with the rising star to get all the info about her movie-worthy mane…

“Going Natural is just so                  beautiful and exciting and liberating; it’s so freeing to realize that you don’t have to do too much to be beautiful,” explains Jaz.

Ready For Her Close-Up

We are all wondering the same thing: is Jaz’s terrific tresses au naturale? They absolutely are! The star’s When The Bough Breaks movie styles were all done on her Natural hair. “No wigs; its all my hair. I’ve got a lot of hair,” she admits. Originally the films beauty department planned to straighten the actress’ strands, but changed their mine after Jaz did a screen test wearing her Natural curls.

When it comes to mane maintenance. the actress has some good tips. Jaz has discovered she prefers natural shampoos and conditioners and says coconut oil is a must. “It just makes it so strong and healthy and shiny and soft. I do a coconut oil treatment every couple of weeks. I put it in my hair, put my hair up and then put on a scarf. I sleep in it and wash it out in the morning. For the next few days, my ringlets are so soft.”
