My hair is very itchy all the time until it burns. And it is turning redish brown. What should I done about the itchy. Please help me.

    • Taynara says:

Great info! Our CW just put together a nairting for AA hair care for what she called the pink elephant in the room. She would disagree with about washing the hair since teenage boys get to smelling funky really quickly in the summer. Her advice was to use very moisturizing shampoo (like Mane n Tail) and leave-in conditioners, such as coconut oil and Luster’s Pink Sheen Spray. Another thing she emphasized was a weekly (hour or more long) comb-out and style. (Good thing I have boys!)And mostly to go to an AA beautician to watch and learn. She is so passionate about making sure AA girls feel good about their looks. Thanks for tackling this difficult topic.

  2. Jazmine says:

Hi,my name is Jazmine&I’m 18 im going w|o a perm for maybe 7 months now. I usually keep my hair braided, which i believe caused my edges to break off. I cut my hair&dyed it a honey blonde. I also flat iron my hair constantly&I’m result in the back of my head my hair had popped off. What can use to grow both my edges&hair back;along w|should i dye my hair black before putting another color?

    • Ajay says:

I agree with this whole-heartedly, and I don’t even have hair pcdruot. For years I had long hair and I kept it tied up in a knot all the time. I decided I should “grow up” so I chopped it off, donated my ponytail, and forced myself to fix my hair. Now? Because I’m too lazy? I’m growing it out until it’s long enough to tie back.

  3. QRoyul says:

I have been wearing micro braids for about 2 months now is it safe for me to get the out side done over or will that damage my hair

  4. KDR says:

Even though I never had a perm I’ve flat iron my hair for years. Sense moving to attend college I’ve decided to go NO HEAT which I still am for 6months now. At first I love it, but now I’m very bored with my hair, but I refuse to straighten my hair (trying to keep it up for at least a year). I simply braid it at night w/ moisturizer and take them out in the moring and do a half-up-half-down do. Any pointers on some new hairdo’s??? Please-thanks.

  5. kjamere says:

I have been relaxer-free for almost 10 years and I am bored with my hair. All I can figure out to do it wash/blowdry/flat-iron. It is very long and heavy and the stylist in my area say that they do not know how to style “natural” hair and always suggest a relaxer and roller set. This is so frustrating…. I am trying to find new styles for myself that I can do at home so that I don’t have to fly to another city every two weeks just to get my hair done.

    • egreen says:

Try a dominican salon, they do an awesome job at roller setting and blow dry styling natural hair straight.

    • allyson says:

go on youtube and search for natural hair style. no need to get a perm to look good, try some new styles out on your own.

  6. Tracey says:

I have been chemical free for a year. I have not found a style that I would like. I do not like braids, twist, locs, a texturizer. My hair is coarse, thick and thin in the top from color and over perming. It is slowly trying to grow back. I want a low maintaence style. I DO NOT WANT TO GO BACK TO THE hair CRACK! Help
    THANKS
    Tracey

  7. Zoey says:

Hello I dont have a reply. I have a question i recently cut my hair really short. I have not had a relaxer in about 3 yrs but ive been researching some shorts styles that i like alot.My question is since my hair is in braids now and i would like to get my hair relaxed to acheive the style i’m going for. When should I apply the relaxer once the braids are out? And can u refer me to a really good stylist in the LA area please.
