Grammy Award-winner Lenny Kravitz joins Food Bank For New York City to kick off a first-of-its-kind, five-borough hunger-relief campaign on to coincide with Food Bank’s 13th Annual Can Do Awards Dinner on tonight at Cipriani Wall Street. The singer/actor, a new member of Food Bank’s Celebrity Ambassador Program, and a native New Yorker, will serve as the Manhattan Borough Captain for the Campaign, encouraging his fellow-Manhattanites to support New Yorkers in need. Joining Lenny on Team Manhattan is Food Bank Celebrity Ambassador, Questlove. Award-winning musician, producer and actor, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and Actress Debi Mazar, will Captain Queens. Brooklyn-born actress Gabourey “Gabby” Sidibe is representing Brooklyn alongside celebrity chef, “The Tuscan Gun” from The Cooking Channel’s hit show, Extra Virgin, Gabriele Corcos. American Rapper and prominent member of the Wu-Tang Clan, Raekwon will be campaigning for Staten Island, while the NFL’s Chris Canty is supporting the Bronx. Lenny Kravitz’s song entitled “New York City” will serve as the theme for Food Bank For New York City Can Do Awards Gala.
