Tené Williams
Soul-stirring singer/songwriter Tené Williams is best known for her early ’90s hit “Give Him A Love.” These days the stunning songbird is taking vocal performance to a new level with her album Brave, via her own record label Sierra Music Group. Here, the gorgeous sister chats about her unstoppably sexy style…
“I like updos but I’m not crazy about them because I’m such a hair girl. To me, hair is one of my most fabulous accessories!”
“Tight curls aren’t my thing. I like to use hot rollers to create big curls. When I remove the rollers I finger-comb the curls to loosen them up and create a flowy look.”
“I always make sure my hairstyle is versatile. I like to have the option to be able to throw it off to the side, put it into a ponytail, twist it up or just wear it down.”
“I love to wear my hair in super long, free and flowy curls with a center or slight side part.”

I would like to know what are the best producs for full long curly hair..i like to wear my hair natural most of the time.
Hi Janelle: Take a look at the Braids & Naturals mini-magazine, which is in each issue of SBH. Inside, you’ll find styling and maintenance tips from some of the top stylists all over the world. Start with the November issue…on stands now!
You have really nice hair. I do wish that there were some unprofessional pictures of you up because that would be a lot more reassuring that those locks are yours. Everyone does have different hair types so ethnicity and family background isn’t necessary. But you do have very nice hair… but i do believe the fact that it is not only taken care of by yourself and professionals too, says plenty about why its so nice. Right now i am having so many problems with my hair… an i am learning how to take care of it, so it’ll be okay in no time.
Hi Monique: Glad you’re loving singer Melanie Fiona’s lovely tresses too! It’s great you’re learning how to take care of your own hair as well. For more tips and tricks, pick up a copy of the current issue. You’ll learn about frizz, breakage, haircolor and more!

Us, too, Roneq’ua! We love Ms. Cole’s fabulous mane moves and can’t wait to see what she has in store for us with her next projects rolls out…
I love melanie fiona’s hair & I want to know what kind of weave I can buy to get that look?
Hi Lil’Bit: Melanie Fiona’s lush, long locks are naturally curly and she often tints her tresses a shade of black. To replicate the singer’s look, try a human hair weave in a wavy texture. Melanie also wears her hair straight on occasion, so if you want a more versatile look, opt for a straight style. You can always get the “beach-inspired” curls by styling your hair with a barrel curling iron.
I would like to see Janet Jackson featured with her new short hairdo. It’s nice to see more black women rock their own hair. My hair is short like “Ms Jackson” and I would like to know what her new hairdo products and tips are.
You’re right, Debora : short is so chic! Thanks for the suggestion and look to a future issue of SBH for more info on Ms. Jackson’s fabulous cut!
I am so interested in the Gabrielle Union’s new short razor cut. I am letting my hair grow back long and having a horrible time with patience. The nape and sides have grown out, my hair gets thicker as it gets longer and I am very frustrated. I would like to rock Gabrielle’s style but I don’t go to a hair salon because I’m a cosmetologist. How do I razor my own do? Specifically, the middle back?
We’re checking on an answer for you Kit…
Hi Kit: Here’s the answer to your question courtesy of celebrity hair pro Kim Kimble: “So many of us, including myself, are guilty of cutting, coloring and experimenting with our own hair. We sometimes feel that we are the ones that know our hair better than anyone. However, when it comes to using a razor, I have to say that this is something you need a fellow hairdresser to do. The risks of cutting yourself with the razor are far too great. Even with a razor guard, you will not have the control or accuracy needed to razor cut your hair. Please consider a salon professional if this is a look you want.”
I love Keri’s house
I meant her hair I love her hair
Hi peacy2: We knew that!
i live in RDC.your beauty is confirm by all persons
Which is best for thining hair ? BRAIDS, WEAVE, WIGS…. ? low budget, get up in go person….?
Hi Tanya: Sounds you’re a low-maintenance kind of chick! From the 3 choices you’re considering, a wig would be your best option. Buy the best wig you can afford and don’t forget to take care of your own hair underneath.
