It was an afternoon of inspiration and empowerment to salute six women trailblazers in Chicago during the 2016 Salute Her: Beauty of Diversity Awards Luncheon presented by Café Mocha, the nationally syndicated radio show known as “radio from a woman’s perspective.” Sophisticate’s Black Hair Styles And Care Guide Editor-in-Chief Jocelyn T. Amador was honored with the Media Innovator Award for her work in showcasing the diversity of style, beauty and significance of Black hair in American culture.
Other honorees included: Yolanda Adams, Grammy Award winning singer; Glenda Gill, Vice President of Supplier Success LLC; Lynn Norment, President/Founder of Lynn Norment Media; Tragil Wade, Executive Director of Wade’s World Foundation; and Riana Lynn, Founder of FoodTrace Inc.
