Last night’s live telecast of the Miss Universe pageant wasn’t without drama. But lost in the shuffle of the crowning ceremony mishap was a gorgeous contestant whose path to the Miss Universe 2015 pageant stage was also filled with controversy. Miss Japan, Ariana Miyamoto, has had to fend off some nasty comments since winning her country’s pageant crown. The bi-racial beauty was born in Japan and is the daughter of a Japanese woman and an African-American man. But critics complained she doesn’t look Japanese enough to represent their country. And though the 20-year-old didn’t take home the crown last night, she nevertheless represented with elegance, poise and class. And that is the best way to silence haters don’t you think?
